Wines of Friuli

Meroi

For more than a century, the Meroi family has been a caretaker of the land and people in and around the small village of Buttrio in Italy’s Friuli region. Paolo Meroi now runs the 3rd generation restaurant, Trattoria al Parco, as well as his family’s vineyard holdings, wine production, and hotel. His day often starts around 4am when he gets to the winery or vineyard sites depending on the time of year. At around noon, he heads to the family restaurants where he runs the grill like a true master and then after lunch it’s back to the vineyards. Dinnertime sees Paolo once again at the grill until midnight or 1am and so another day turns in Buttrio. He is as tireless in his energy as he is exacting in the pursuit of greatness in his wines. Ronco Severo

The Ronco Severo winery is a small production company located in the town of Prepotto, in the province of Udine. We are in a region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, which has always been associated with wine and its traditions, and which, over the last few decades, has been able to impose itself for the quality of its products, especially its white wines. Of the many different wineries in the area, Ronco Severo is certainly one that reflects the spirit of its owner, Stefano Novello. He is a refined soul, who grew up in a family of farmers, accustomed to cultivating the land since the post-war period, dedicating himself to agriculture, livestock breeding and even vines.

Ronco Severo produces a very limited amount of wine each year, but in spite of this, it is able to offer enthusiasts a wide range of the most representative products of this territory. Genuine, straightforward labels, where compromise is never at the expense of a sincere, clean and identifiable sip. This is ideal for connecting those who taste a Ronco Severo wine with the fascinating terroir of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Learn more.

Volpe Pasini

Wine Producers from the XVIII Century, the heart of the complex, with its offices and the cellar is comprised of a heritage villa, dating from 1596 and a complex of buildings which surround the villa. Inside the property of 20,000 square meters is found the centuries old park and a small vineyard of Ribolla Gialla, which recalls the wine vocation of Volpe Pasini. Dating from the eighteenth century there are documents which testify to the wine production on the property. The company since then has always expressed a purely agricultural vocation, and in the second half of the twentieth century it became exclusively wine producing.

52 hectares of vineyards, of which half are for white grapes and half are for red grapes, on the hills of Togliano and Prepotto, in the best wine growing areas of the Colli Orientali of Friuli.

In the field, soil, subsoil, topography and microclimate render each vine unique.
In the cellar, old traditions and modern technologies elevate and transform special grapes into extraordinary wines. It is thus that in every bottle you will find a world of tastes, of land, of tradition and in the name of uniqueness within typicality.
